THE MEANING OF AFIYAH
Health. Wholeness. Wellbeing.
Afiyah is a place to be listened to with care, understood in context, and supported with clear guidance that respects who you are.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Traditional wisdom and modern knowledge, held in one thoughtful conversation.
Afiyah begins with the person, not a checklist. East Asian medicine helps us recognize patterns and relationships in the body. Naturopathic principles inform our attention to prevention, nourishment, daily habits, botanical knowledge, and the conditions that help health flourish.
We also consider your health history, current care, environment, stress, sleep, nutrition, movement, and everyday responsibilities. Modern clinical knowledge supports safe decisions, honest conversations about evidence, and timely referrals when another healthcare professional should be involved.
Dr. Quanon’s naturopathic medical education enriches her clinical perspective and patient education. Afiyah’s services are provided within her Pennsylvania acupuncture license and applicable professional scope.

MEET DR. QUANON
Dr. Edgelyn Quanon
Afiyah grew from Dr. Quanon’s vision for care that feels refined, restorative, and deeply personal. As a Pennsylvania-licensed acupuncturist, Dr. Quanon uses acupuncture and appropriate supportive techniques within her professional scope. Her naturopathic medical education informs how thoroughly she listens, how she considers nutrition and daily life, how she teaches, and how carefully she thinks about safety, evidence, and coordination with primary or specialty care. It does not expand the legal scope of the services Afiyah provides.
Dr. Quanon is naturally curious. She enjoys asking deeper questions and exploring the patterns and contributing factors that may shape how a person feels, rather than treating every concern as isolated. Her training as a pelvic steam facilitator, birth and postpartum doula, and childbirth educator also brings tenderness and practical understanding to reproductive wellness and major life transitions.
Her Liberian heritage, work with diverse communities, and love of herbs, food, family, travel, and culture shape the warmth of Afiyah. Every client arrives with a different body, history, culture, set of responsibilities, and hope for the future. Dr. Quanon’s role is to meet that person with respect, explain options clearly, and provide safe, personalized acupuncture and wellness care that complements appropriate medical treatment.
